The Belgian photographer who goes solely by the name of “Gunther” produces stunning art nude photography of beautiful women, all bathed in a sensual blue light. The result is magnificent.
There is a lot to be said about the color blue of course, and one of the first things that came to mind was the late experimental French artist Yves Klein, who was not only fixated on the blue color, but also had a fondness for using nude women in neo-Dada performance pieces, as well as covering his models in paint and dragging them across canvas or paper to make ‘body paintings’. He also patented his own pigment, known as Yves Klein Blue or International Klein Blue.
What I found odd about Klein, however, was that he didn’t use IKB for when he dragged his models around to do the body painting bit. Gunther prefers to illuminate his models in this gorgeous and mysterious light and it is outstanding. Visit Gunther’s blog here, or his main website.
