Sasha Grey: 18 Year Old Teen Porn Star Shot By Ron Harris and a Sasha Grey Interview

Ah, Sasha Grey… Down here in Sunny Southern California, the Porn Capital of the world, whenever the local rags run out of something to write about they usually fall back on our main industry - porn! It matters little that the article tells the same thing we’ve already heard and known about, as long as it’s porn. A little while back when I first started this blog, I posted about a series of articles about porn being “the valley’s dark secret.” Puh-leez. It’s as plain as the cum on your face. Also in the past several months, LA Magazine did a story about budding porn star Sasha Grey, and tried for showing a peek into her life and way of thinking, pandering to her presenting herself as a “existentialist porn star.” On Sasha Grey’s myspace page, she writes an RIP to Antonioni, and the article mentioned that she first wanted to use Anna Karina as her porn star name after the Danish/French actress and former wife of Jean-Luc Godard. Pretentious? You bet.

So what’s the deal with Sasha and why does she merit all this attention? Well, I don’t know how many of my fellow porn connoiseurs are also into French and Italian cinema from the 1960s who would admire her for that, and there’s certainly enough 18 year olds coming to the SF Valley to do porn. So what’s the appeal and/or the big deal? Is it really the inane references to Godard? Or is it her “up for anything” attitude where she said in an interview that “aside from anything involving children or animals, she was pretty much up for anything, including being spat on or punched”?

For me, I like this photo shoot from Ron Harris who can make any porno chick look goddamn classy. But if you’d prefer to see Sasha gangbanged, then you have a lot more stuff to choose from.

So who’s more exploitative? The producers getting Sasha the gangbang “job” or our media culture which likes to thrill us with sordid tales about Sasha Grey? Or even me, writing about it? You be the judge but here she is on the Tyra Banks show.

A good point was made on Luke Ford about her posturing. She will eventually realize that the joke’s one her. Oh well. So far 2007 has been a mixed year for Sasha. Although she was chosen Penthouse Pet of The Month for July 2007 and is featured as part of the art work for The Smashing Pumpkins album Zeitgeist, she also contracted a case of anal warts and had to hold off from any scenes that involved the hershey highway.
